Residents in Niagara Falls can expect the sound of simulated gunfire and controlled explosions during a police training exercise this week.
The Niagara Regional Police Service says its Emergency Task Unit will conduct outdoor training on a property near Mountain Road and Garner Road on Wednesday, April 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Officers say the public may notice smoke and an increased police presence, but traffic disruptions are not expected.
Police are asking people to stay clear of the training site for safety reasons. Signage will be posted in the area.
