Welland Fire and Emergency Services has cleared out old equipment from the former Lyons Avenue firehall, including a 1946 Lafrance Pumper truck, a key piece of the city’s firefighting history.
Though no longer operational, the vintage truck will be restored by the Welland Professional Firefighters Association, who will handle all costs.
Once restored, the truck will appear in parades and community events, celebrating the legacy of Welland’s fire service.
